Salt & Light
Here’s another name for everyone to try on. Forgive me for being hung up on Jesus’ parables. I guess there are worse things, right!?
Salt & Light: A transformational, missional community of Christ followers
Matthew 5:13"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
I like it because I think the parable really speaks to who we are seeking to be. Transformational—if we lose our saltiness, what good are we? Missional—let your light shine before men… Community—gives light to everyone in the house.

I was driving earlier this week, (by myselfy, a rarity)...trying to brainstorm words and names for the church! And actually "Salt and Light" was a name that came to my mind as well as the words "transformed, transformation". They were words that I associated with what we all are trying to do!! Just thought I'd share!
